Fun in Iowa!

For Nate's Spring Break, (being the Disneyland addict that I am), I had started looking into prices and such for a Disneyland trip. We found a somewhat reasonable vacation package (is that possible with Disneyland?), but it still seemed a little pricey. That's when I stumbled upon this commercial for a place called 'Fun City' in Iowa. I guess if you can't have the "Happiest Place on Earth"...then maybe 'Fun City' could be next in line? So I ran upstairs and MapQuest-ed it, and it is only 2 1/2 hours away! Needless to say, we booked that trip instead. (And paid about a tenth of the price of a Disney trip.) Anyways, it is a Best Western Hotel that a fun complex was built around. There is an indoor waterpark, Nascart racing, laser tag, bowling, arcades, restaurants, etc.. all indoors and built around the hotel. We had such a BLAST! The girls, of course, loved the indoor waterpark the best. It was a wonderful family vacation, and it was so great to spend a few days of 100% school-free time with Nate. It's going to be hard after this past week for him to go back to school. The girls definitely take advantage of when he's home!

Caitlin is still enjoying preschool. It is so wonderful that they have kids ages 3-5 in her class, because she has started learning to write from the older kids in her class. She can write her name, and about anything else you spell for her! Nate has also taught her basic addition using her fingers. She is such a sweetheart. Abby is getting so big as well! It's so crazy to think that in only a couple of months she will be 2, although she definitely already acts like it! She can talk so well, and she loves playing with Caitlin. Their favorite game is 'freeze dance', and they insist the music be blasting to play. They are such a blessing to us!

The girls and I are packing up to leave for our 2-week trip to Utah tomorrow morning. Although we will miss Nate, we are so excited to get to warmer weather, and to be back HOME for a while! Kirksville has treated us so well, but I don't think it will ever truly be our home. We are, however, enjoying our time out here. We have made such wonderful friends, and we have a lot of fun.
