doldrums of summer

i remember reading about the 'doldrums' in school, and how it's basically a part of the ocean that is calm, boring, with nothing going on.
i feel like i am in the doldrums of summer! being super uncomfortable has made the last few weeks of waiting for this baby last for-ever. my feet have decided to go on a swelling spree, more so than i ever thought possible. luckily the kids are good troopers, and if we stay home and they just jump on the tramp with sprinklers all day they are satisfied. i've tried to take them to seven peaks at least once or twice a week, but that is slowing down as well. 9 more days bebe...we can do this!
the other day there was a crazy storm that came through, and then some amazing scenery after. we looked one way and saw double rainbows, and looked the other way and had an awesome sunset. i guess you don't get these in arizona :o)

we threw a surprise party for nate's dad's 60th birthday at my mom's clubhouse. it was fun to swim, watch movies in the theater, hang out, eat food, and just have fun together. i didn't get a group shot (oops), so here are a few candids...
this is out of order, but nate's mom made this DARLING quilt for the baby. i love love love it.
and she made me my own size boppy with an extra slipcover. the ones they sell are too big/tall for my torso, so leave it to pegs to make a personalized one!
and heather made me this cute nursing cover...thanks heather! love it already.
the 'men' (or boys i should say) played this game for HOURS. caitlin would dive to the bottom with a single match, then hurry and come up out of the way. then the 1st to jump in, find, and grab the matchstick won a point. lovely.
i think she should get a job as a rescue diver when she's older!
abs and brookie
the bathing beauties. this is about as bikini as we can get peggy to go. ;o)
a month ago the girls had their yearly celiac panels done. since caitlin has celiac, and it's highly genetic, the other two have to be tested every year as well. this time emma's results came back off the charts positive. i was so bummed, but they have to scope and biopsy her intestines to confirm the diagnosis. she had her scope on tuesday, and we just got the results back today. HOORAY...she has 'LATENT Celiac Disease'. so basically she has celiac, but it isn't active (yet) so it's not causing any damage. so no gluten free diet needed for her yet. which is a HUGE relief, because she is just too young to understand right now, and it was going to be hard to start her GF with a brand new baby at the same time!
emma all ready for her scope/biopsies.
after the scope. she wasn't too happy about the i.v. in her arm, and the fact that we wouldn't let her take it out.
i promised the girls before the baby comes that i would take them each on a 'date' of their choice. abby chose chuck'e'cheese and krispie kremes afterwards. she had the time of her life with her bowl of tokens and tickets all to herself. i was just getting over the flu, so i didn't exactly enjoy the likes of chuck'e'cheese this time around, but we still had fun.
she loved watching how those healthy donuts are made. healthy or not...i love them!!
and i just couldn't help sneaking this picture of cute claire in here. the cutest tinkerbell i've ever seen!!
i tried to upload a picture of me pregnant now, and 38 weeks pregnant with emma, so you can all see how much bigger i am. for some reason they won't upload...and i've tried a couple of times. guess that's my sign that i need to keep my huge-ole prego pics off the blog!
