i've been doing some projects lately to get ready for this baby. we're going to have to do some room switching and furniture swapping...luckily i've found some great deals at d.i., etc... on cheap stuff to refinish.
caitlin needed her own 'space' to do homework. found this bad boy at d.i. for $5, i wish i would've gotten a 'before' picture so you could appreciate this after look. the necklace holder was 75 cents at d.i. so i refinished it at the same time.
this is my 1st go at a carrier-cover-canopy-thingy. i used a pattern one of the resident's wives emailed me..and kind-of did my own spin on it. it turned out ok, it'll work for the likes of this bebe boy. now i can't wait for his little mini bum to be sitting in that carrier!
i got this dresser/changing table for $40 on ksl. it's from ikea, i think normally $179. anyways, the finish wasn't in bad shape at all, but i wanted black to match his crib and such. so i tried my hand for the 1st time at refinishing a dresser. it wasn't too bad, but i am in no way a professional spray-painter...i had a few runs, etc...
sanded
primed
painted
assembled...almost
done. not too shabby?
i modge-podged fabric on the backing that matches the fabric i'm going to use to make the crib bedding.
these are the fabrics i'm going to use...we'll see how it all turns out.
